Just 11 minutes a day can have a tremendous effect on the mind and spirit. This mantra can be chanted as a Prosperity Meditation to “bring prosperity, happiness, and save us from calamities,” in the words of Yogi Bhajan. The Gobinday Mukande mantra was given by Guru Gobind Singh, and Yogi Bhajan gave us the four Har’s that precede it. One way to challenge fear is to empower yourself, and one of the most empowering mantras in Kundalini Yoga is Har Har Har Har Gobinday. When you are sinking, if you know this mantra and can sing it, you can totally recuperate yourself.” There are many versions of this mantra available, but we love Ajeet Kaur’s rendition on her new album Haseya. Yogi Bhajan said the following about this mantra: “Chattr Chakkr Vartee is the mantra for the heart center, it gives direct energy to it. Nanak says nobody can be good or bad by their own powerĪnother powerful mantra for releasing fear is Chattra Chakkra Vartee, taken from the last four lines of Guru Gobind Singh’s Jaap Sahib. But when it is deeply felt, it can bring great trust, relaxation, and the end of all fear. If taken to a literal extreme, this idea can lead to passivity and the belief that we have no control over our destiny. Aakhan Jor, found in the 33rd Pauri (verse) of Jap Ji, helps us reach a perspective on life and suffering that can overcome all fear.
Jap Ji, the poem written by Guru Nanak in the 15th Century, provides us with a beautiful mantra that works to release deep-seated fear. Thankfully, Kundalini Yoga has provided us with some wonderful mantras that we can chant to allow ourselves to begin releasing those subconscious fears that haunt us. But living with fear on a daily basis can immobilize us, and in extreme circumstances it can even prevent us from finding true happiness in our lives. Fear often alerts us to something that can be dangerous or unhealthy, and it’s important to listen to that voice of caution. We use the negative mind, the second of our ten bodies in Kundalini Yoga, to establish our personal boundaries and assess risk. Fear can lodge itself in the subconscious and, suddenly, we find that things that seem easy and natural to some people are stressful for us.Ī certain degree of fear is vital to our survival. Do you find yourself feeling anxious about the future? Do you tend to panic in the face of change? Are you overly concerned about what friends or colleagues think about you? At times, these manifestations of fear can become a paralyzing force in our lives.
